
Monday morning a 14-year-old girl she was killed in a knife attack in Illerkirchberg, a small municipality roughly halfway between Stuttgart and Munich in southern Germany. The girl, whose name has not been disclosed, was attacked on her way to school: another 13-year-old student who was with her was seriously injured and was taken to hospital. According to local media, her life is not in danger.
German police said they arrested a 27-year-old man suspected of carrying out the attack, an asylum seeker from Eritrea. At the moment the reasons for the gesture are not known. Two other Eritrean men who live in the asylum seeker center where the suspect had taken refuge after the attack were also questioned.
