Miss Bean is a blind cat who lives in Chicago (USA) with her beloved owner Donna Zeigler. While caring for a blind kitty can be a challenge, the feeling of love and gratitude that the animal gives in thanks is invaluable. And the images with the cat who senses the presence of her owner are touching.
Miss Bean was rescued by the Baws Humane Society when she was still a puppy: she lost her eyesight completely due to birth defects that caused eye infections. Due to the high pressure in her eyeballs, the vets decided to remove the eye organs placed in her sockets. She was about 3 months old at the time. She entered Zeigler’s house when she was less than a month old: she thought she would stay temporarily, instead she fell in love with her and wanted her to be by her side forever.
The cat’s disability does not prevent her from living a happy life with her owner and her feline siblings. In one of the videos shared on the net, Miss Bean’s babysitter showed how the cat reacts when he notices that she is nearby. As soon as Donna enters the room, Miss Bean starts meowing loud and happy as a greeting and to ask for a caress. The video posted on TikTok has moved many Internet users who have seen it many times, with tearful comments: “he has no eyes but he has two ears, a nose and you”; “How dare you hide from her”; “I want to hold her in my arms.”
It’s important to prepare for the arrival of a blind cat in your home so that it can acclimate to an unfamiliar location. Choose toys that make sounds to allow him to track them and talk often and lovingly to guide and encourage him to explore. Miss Bean’s story demonstrates that a cat with this disability can live a happy and loving life with the right support and care from the owner.
