BMW achieved another ambitious goal in 2022. Out of its entire fleet of vehicles marketed in the EU, emissions have been reduced by more than 9%.
A goal achieved thanks to greater efficiency of its vehicles, an electrification strategy implemented by the German brand, which led to a consequent reduction in emissions, going from 115.9 grams per km in 2021 to 105 g/km in 2022 (cycle WLTP).
Worldwide, BMW sold more than 215,000 electric cars in 2022.
A surprising result, compared to the previous year, the consensus of the public towards zero-emission cars signed BMWhave grown by 108%, the goal is to arrive by 2030 to ensure that over 50% of its sales volumes come from fully electric vehicles.
BMW Group is the first German car manufacturer to join the Business Ambition for 1.5 C° campaign. A program launched by Science-Based Targets Initiative which aims to achieve complete climate neutrality along the entire value chain.
The propeller brand plans to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% per vehicle by 2030 (baseline 2019), a result that can only be achieved by intervening on the efficiency of the entire life cycle (chain of supply, production and use phase).
