The display manufacturer BOE wants to exaggerate with the refresh rate of the panels supplied with laptops: after unveiling the world’s first 500Hz monitor, with a diagonal of 27 inches, the Chinese company has unveiled the world’s first 16-inch 600Hz display.
As reported by the Chinese portal ITHome, the company otherwise called Beijing Oriental Electronics Group showed the next generation of displays of its production at the World Display Industry Conference 2022: we find for example a 34-inch WQHD miniLED screen, but also a fantastic 86-inch 4K miniLED panel with a peak brightness of 1500 nits; in short, the company is trying to overcome all limits with its displays.
What stands out however is it smaller 16-inch screen with 600Hz refresh rate, the world’s highest on a gaming laptop panel. It is an exceptional product especially for players in the esports scene, who can greatly benefit from such a high refresh rate. We recall, therefore, that to date the highest figures are recorded on the Dell Alienware x17 R2, capable of reaching 480Hz.
In the specific case of the panel signed BOE it is a Full HD displays already installed on an unspecified test unit equipped with an RTX GPU. In all likelihood this is a test laptop designed exclusively to showcase the new technology featured at the event to the public, but a potential partnership already established between BOE and another manufacturer should not be ruled out, with the intention of bringing this screen to the shelves in China in a few months.
Last May, however, BOE presented the world’s first 8K AMQLED panel.
