A stray dog has become an international media figure thanks to the video, posted on TikTok from @david_corre and immediately went viral, in which he engages in a foot race in northern Mexico together with humans and, performing a real feat, manages to cross the finish line among the first.
Medium size, light brown color, overall quite athletic physique, the images show him hesitant and almost fearful at the start while all the runners are warming up and trying the best pace to adopt in the race. Although Chicles, as he was called, didn’t have the proper runner’s attire or even a bib, that didn’t stop him from putting in a great performance over the mileage, which earned him a position in the leading ‘human’ group.
In the final stages of the competition, thanks to a break to drink in a puddle of water on the road, the dog lost the lead of the race, breaking away a little, and however closing the challenge in third place. A decidedly honorable placement, which also earned him a special mention (and lots of applause) from the participants, speakers and the public present at the finish.
