“Continuing contact and communication at all levels is an important common understanding reached by China and the US at their meeting in Bali. But neither side ever announced that there would be a visit. It is up to the US to do the their latest announcement and we respect it.” This was stated by a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, commenting on the announcement of ponement of his visit to China by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
US State Department officials said Wednesday that Blinken had decided to postpone his planned trip to China due to the entry of an unmanned Chinese balloon into US airspace.
