The thirteenth generation of Intel Core arrived on the market at the end of September, but this does not mean that the twelfth generation Alder Lake architecture CPUs have been forgotten by users. On the contrary, these processors would be so popular that some traffickers were discovered as they tried to import them into China.
A news from the Chinese portal MyDriversin fact, reports that the Chinese customs authorities have arrested a woman who was trying to smuggling 202 Alder Lake CPUs into China, using a fake silicone belly. Yes, you read right: a fake silicone belly. You can take a look at the seized CPUs (and their particular “hideout”) in the image at the bottom of this news.
The arrest was made at Gongbei port in Zhuhai, which connects mainland China with the city of Macao. The woman told authorities of be in the fifth month of pregnancy, to explain the swelling of his belly. However, it seems that the officers did not believe this explanation, since the size of the woman’s belly was too large to be compatible with a pregnancy in the fifth month. Furthermore, it seems that the woman was able to walk without any problems despite the size of her belly.
After some checks, therefore, the silicone “fake belly” was discovered, which contained 202 twelfth generation Intel CPUs inside. It remains to understand with what expedient the woman wanted to pass the port metal detectors and other checks on exit to Chinese territory.
That of the woman of Zhuhai, however, is not the first story linked to smuggling Intel processors into China: Conversely, in March, a man who went by the nickname CPU Man tried to enter the country with 160 Intel CPUs attached to his body.
