It was 1986, Cristian was 8 years old when he was admitted to the OSant’Orsola hospital in Bologna for severe abdominal pain. Thus began his ordeal and the fight against an enemy who at the time seemed unbeatable. Today Christian Morisi He is 44 years old and wants to tell his story to make people understand how important it is to support scientific research. He is concrete proof of how a tumor, even an aggressive one, can be cured thanks to the progress of science.
“I have been an Airc volunteer for over 26 years because I am the concrete example that research saves us. Volunteering is the greatest thanks I can give to a researcher”, he affirms moved.
In the 1980s, there were few young patients who survived this tumor “one out of two, one out of three was saved, if it goes well,” he says. The doctors immediately told his parents that the disease had progressed in such a way that it was now inoperable: “I have chemotherapy cycles in my memory, I have suffering in my memory mine and the other people who were next to me,” she says.

Today, the most important goal for him is to raise funds for research. “Every small gesture of a volunteer or a donor is immediately converted into research, and research into a clinical result.” he says.Today, thanks to research, young patients with his own tumor have a more than 70% chance of recovery. “We must support research now, to change tomorrow!” he concludes.
