Whatsapp has announced that the update it brings to its application is being distributed starting today the avatars already available on other Meta services such as Facebook and Instagram.
Mark Zuckerberg’s company explained that they can be used as profile pictures but also sent as stickers (36 are available, covering various expressions and emotions). The feature will be distributed to users all over the world in the next few days, but in the meantime the launch has already started.
Those who have had the opportunity to participate in the beta test phase will not be surprised by this news, given that Whatsapp had already started testing avatars for a couple of months. Already available on Facebook for over two years, with this new system Meta aims to change the communication system for users, focusing everything on the possibility of customizing them to your liking, unlike what happens with classic emojis. Avatars also have a broader vision and look to the metaverse, the project on which Mark Zuckerberg and associates are betting massively.
At the same time, the development of other functions by the app continues: according to what has emerged, Whatsapp will allow you to search for messages by date in conversations.
