FIFA, the organization that governs world football, has launched an investigation to reconstruct how some unauthorized people took to the pitch to participate in Argentina’s celebrations after the World Cup final on Sunday 18 December. Among these there is also the Turkish restaurateur and entrepreneur Nusret Gökçe, known by the name of the meme that made him famous, “Salt Bae”, of which many photos and videos have circulated in which he is seen holding the cup in his hands and kiss her. According to the FIFA regulations, access to the pitch is not granted to everyone and the cup can only be taken in hand by the winning players, FIFA people and heads of state.
In the hours following the final, many on social networks had made fun of Gökçe and criticized him for joining so forcefully in celebrations that did not concern him. In November, when the World Cup had already begun, Gökçe had published a video in which he embraced FIFA president Gianni Infantino and was then photographed with him, Ronaldo and other players in the VIP gallery.
