Frenchie, the paraplegic French bulldog for whom there seemed to be no more hope, and who had been advised to euthanasia, has managed to beat the dire predictions. She recovered, to the delight of her owners and all those who cheered on this cute dog who was the protagonist of an enterprise bigger than him. His incredible healing was told on TikTok: the video went viral, moving the over three and a half million people who viewed it, with more than 350,000 “likes”. A story with a happy ending that made its owner rejoice, who didn’t give up and thus gave a second life to her beloved Frenchie.
It all started on the dramatic day when the dog was no longer able to move: she became paraplegic due to a herniated disc that paralyzed her hind legs. Unfortunately, the prognosis left no shadow of a doubt, so much so that the vets evaluated the most chilling hypothesis: euthanasia. Frenchie’s owner attempted a second surgery, but her sad face wasn’t encouraging. No longer able to use her back muscles, she had to walk in a harness: she had thus decided to start physical therapy in order not to lose hope and save her from euthanasia.
The physical exercises, certainly not easy for a dog in his condition, benefited Frenchie, who carried out each exercise with great courage and commitment. “Your face was very full of hope – commented the owner – It was inevitable to look at you and not cry. One day you decided to get up, you fell and got up again”. His case could have cost him his life: he was extremely delicate. However, the puppy gave her best: after her hospitalization she was able to walk again thanks to physiotherapy “We can beat adversity with commitment, dedication and lots of love”, wrote the young owner, in tears. “Only love can do these wonders”: is one of the messages of those who have followed the story of Frenchie and can now breathe a sigh of relief.
