After having amazed fans of the Tech world with the preview of Google Search’s future AI features, BigG has moved on to unveiling hardware products and much more. In fact, apart from Pixel 7a, the reveal of Pixel Tablet, an AI notebook and the generative AI of Android (yes, Google has “gotten heavy” with the reveals).
Starting from Pixel Tablet, the latter has a priced at $499 in the United States of America and the pre-order phase is already available. The actual shipments will start from 20 June 2023 and the colors in which the product is available are White, Dark Green and Light Pink. The focus is placed on multimedia content, thanks to an 11-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, while the package also includes a magnetic dock for recharging and for improving audio through an additional speaker.
By the way, when Pixel Tablet is placed in its dock, the device takes on a design somewhat similar to a Nest Hub. Net of this, under the body there is a proprietary Tensor G2 processor, as well as 8GB of RAM and 128 / 256GB of internal memory. Then there is support for Wi-Fi and Google estimates the autonomy in 12 hours of video playback. In short, BigG has launched a tablet that winks at entertainment.
Turning to the question of notebook with AI, what is referred to is a prototype called Project Tailwind, which sees the use of artificial intelligence to “learn from user documents” as a peculiar feature. Put simply, Google’s idea is to have its AI model “train” on the user’s notes, so that it can then ask the AI questions a bit as if it were a sort of “personal tutor” or “writing partner”.
All of this can clearly be applied to study, in the event that the user decides to have the language “trained” on notes perhaps related to a specific university exam. In general, however, Google indicates that everything could be useful for those who need to synthesize information from many different sources. For the moment it is not clear whether everything will actually be launched or not in the future, but the idea behind Project Tailwind has certainly attracted the attention of more than one person.
Finally arriving at theAndroid generative AI, the latter first targets message-related replies using the Magic Compose feature, which allows you to quickly reply in the Messages app with automatically generated replies based on the content of the user’s previous messages, so that you reply a bit “as you would the latter”. The Beta version of this feature will be released in summer 2023.
Apart from this, exclusively for Pixel devices starting in June 2023, a function will arrive for create your own “perfect background” answering questions posed by the AI. As you can well imagine, everything is rooted in the AI generation of images starting from textual input. You will also be able to take advantage of a feature that can “smartly combine” the user’s photos into “3D images” that can “move” when you tilt or unlock the device.
Clearly more possibilities will come in the future with Android 14. However, you understand that already i myriads of ads arrived during the 2023 edition of Google I / O are largely able to “satisfy the hunger for novelty” of enthusiasts. For example, we recall that the extended availability of Google Bard was also announced at the same event.
