Those who frequently use virtual reality viewers will certainly run into a significant problem after a few hours of play: keeping the device immaculate. To do this you need to clean it regularly, but how do you do it? We explain it to you: this is how you clean a VR headset.
Doing so is very important, not only to keep the expensive peripheral properly, but also for a matter of personal hygieneespecially if the same viewer is used by several people and, therefore, comes into contact with several faces and hair, or bacteria and germs.
First of all, it is important to have the “tools of the trade”: delicate soap (or similar cleaning solutions), a soft cloth (or wipes) and, perhaps, a cotton swab. The mild detergent it should be used above all to clean the support surfaces of the face, which it is advisable to cover with a silicone covers: in the case of Meta Quest 2 it is already included in the package. In this way, not only is the use more hygienic, but cleaning can be done very easily.
Microfibre cloths and wipes, as they are not rough or abrasive, are recommended to cover the entire surface of the headphones, while the cotton swab can be used to reach less accessible points.
To clean the lenses you need i cloths given when buying the glasses, without using chemical cleaners – except those recommended by the manufacturer of the headset itself. If you use prescription lenses with the viewer, however, a solution consists in removing the lenses and washing them under warm running water with a little soap, and then cleaning them with a non-rough cloth using a circular motion.
For the rest, each viewer requires dedicated attention having a unique form factor; those we provide remain general guidelines.
Speaking of VR trivia, do you know that in the future, maybe we’ll be able to kiss in VR?
