The new tightening of the US government against Huawei, again for “national security reasons”, continues to make the distribution of top-of-the-range smartphones unpublished for the Chinese company complex. Nevertheless, according to new rumors Huawei could launch the P60 and Mate 60 lines in March 2023.
To talk about it with Gizchina were some anonymous sources, according to which the Shenzhen company would be willing to present both top-of-the-range models next year in March, remaining once again on the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs deprived of support for the fifth generation mobile network. In fact, due to US export regulations, i latest generation Kirin chips will not arrive in the next few monthsforcing the company to use the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip for the Huawei P60 series and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC on the Mate 60, in both cases without a built-in 5G modem.
Always according to the leaks published in these days, the basic model of the P60 line should be equipped with the same variable aperture as the Mate 50 Pro for the camera compartment, thus going from f/1.4 to f/4; it is also expected to get a 64MP telephoto sensor. Not many details are known about the Mate 60 series and, indeed, the leaksters closest to Huawei still reserve doubts about the actual launch of this range.
Our advice remains, as always, to take all this information with a grain of salt while waiting for official confirmation.
A few days ago, however, Huawei signed a historic pact with OPPO.
