A few days after the launch of iOS 16.1.2, Apple has also made the iOS 16.2 beta 4which brings with it a small but significant change in the Notification Center.
As can be seen from the screenshot at the bottom, with iOS 14.2 Beta 4 the previous notifications in the Notification Center are now displayed directly and it will not be necessary to swipe up to read them, as happens now.
In fact, with iOS 16 and iOS 16.1, users do not see older notifications in the Notification Center as they did with iOS 15, and must manually swipe up from the center of the screen to access them. This happens when a new notification is received and the user unlocks and locks their iPhone without interacting: iOS 16 actually treats them as old and sends them to the Notification Center in hidden form. This often results in the loss of alerts also important.
With iOS 14.2 Beta 2 the functioning has been changed in part: the displaying previous notifications as default settings applies to Notification Center onlywhich can be accessed by swiping down from the top of the screen.
It is not clear whether this change will flow into the final version of the OS or not. The launch is scheduled for the end of the month.
