It’s not exactly an everyday thing to see a debate about what the actual date of Christmas is. However, this is precisely what has happened recently by way of a “wrong” Google Assistant notificationwhich brought up an interesting question.
Well, it all stems from some reports published, for example, on Redditwhere some users indicate that they received a notification on their Google Pixel smartphone that Christmas in the US and UK would not be linked to December 25, 2022, but on 26 or 27 December 2022. Clearly the first thought goes to a “minor bug”, but an interesting question has arisen out of all of this.
In fact, as noted by PhoneArenaas well as by various Reddit users, the notification that the day of Christmas is “wrong” (in which the user is reminded that he may want to change his alarm clock) could be related to the fact that December 25, 2022 was a Sunday. What does this mean? Simply put, federally the holiday was observed on the following Monday, i.e. December 26, 2022. Also, since a reminder is referred to regarding the alarm clock, users pointed out that it didn’t make too much sense to receive it relative to the weekend.
In short, there seems to be a potential explanation for everything, even if in reality in some screenshots it would seem that Google Assistant indicates the date of December 27, 2022 (but it could be “delayed notifications” in that case). In short, an interesting question has emerged from a “bug” that not everyone might know about. For the rest, you might be interested to know that the next Christmas to be held on a Sunday will be in 2033.
