Four years after the launch of the original model, KTM has completely renewed the 790 Adventure, which is one step below the 890 Adventure and will arrive in dealerships from April 2023. The price has not yet been made official, but the previous version cost 12,990 euros., while the 890 starts at 14,050 euros. So it is reasonable to expect this difference to be maintained, also because the production of the 790 has been moved to China, in the factory born from the joint venture with CFMoto. The aesthetics of the new Ktm 790 Adventure is inspired by the queen of the desert, the 450 Rally Replica: the cantilevered headlight gives way to a rally-style fairing integrated into the front and the 20-litre tank. The tank is the central element of the design and, together with the engine, is protected by new elements in aluminum and injected plastic.

The engine is the 799 cc LC8c parallel twin, capable of delivering 95 HP at 8,000 rpm and 88 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is designed to function properly even in remote locations, with the knock control sensor ensuring constant performance even when using low octane fuels. Those who will travel a long way, near or far from the asphalt, will appreciate the protection of the high windscreen and the seat with the saddle in two pieces and adjustable to 840 or 860 mm in height. In addition, the instrumentation is supported by a reinforced structure that allows you to add additional instruments for navigation, while the 5-inch TFT display automatically adjusts with ambient light and has a redesigned interface.

The KTMConnect app can also be connected, to display information about phone calls or Turn-by-Turn Plus navigation while driving. Speaking instead of chassis, the frame is in chrome-molybdenum steel and the suspensions with a travel of 200 mm are signed WP Apex. As for the electronics, the 790 Adventure is equipped with the most recent 6D inertial platform, which supports traction control, cornering ABS, engine torque regulation and riding modes. The latest novelty is the possibility to test the additional electronic equipment for free, in the first 1,500 km of the bike’s life, with the demo function. In this way, you can decide to purchase the optional driver assistance options at a later time.
