Lamborghinis is ready to launch its new hybrid supercar.
Codenamed LB744, the first Lamborghini super sports car with fully hybrid power supply will be a concentrate of technology, carbon fiber monocoque and Forged Composit front frame.
The first super sports car from the del Toro brand to use a front structure made entirely of carbon fibre, a material also used for the truncated cone section front shock absorbers, a solution which guarantees a high energy absorption capacity.
The monofuselage of the LB744 is 10% lighter than the chassis of the Aventador, its torsional rigidity of no less than 40,000 Nm is also remarkable, around 25% more than the previous generation super sports car.
Lamborghini: a new super sports car is coming
Not only for the frame but also for the roof it was decided to use a pre-impregnated autoclave finished material: the carbon produced in the autoclave not only has an excellent aesthetic impact, but satisfies various technical and qualitative requirements, a choice that will guarantee maximum versatility in customizing the roof which can be painted or left unfinished.
The LB744 project represents the starting point for the new Lamborghini era, the first supercar with plug-in hybrid power that will have a power of over 1,000 HP.
Carbon fiber made with automated processes will be used for the first time on the new super sports car, the traditional manufacturing of the bull brand will be preserved, each individual component will be produced according to a specific methodology, production will be modular, large production volumes are expected.
Lengths, thicknesses and complexity of the individual carbon fiber elements will be perfectly integrated with the rest of the bodywork.
