A leaked email on the web, signed by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, confirms that the Redmond giant has blocked salary increases for staff with full-time contracts throughout 2023.
Nadella in the memo talks about the “economic conditions” that are going through not only companies, but all major economies in general. L’high inflation and the macroeconomic situation they have in fact pushed Microsoft to lay off 10 thousand employees, in the wake of what has also been done by other tech companies, and evidently the situation is still not the best.
“While we will not be providing pay raises for our full-time employees this year, we will continue to invest in our employees through promotions, bonuses and stocks.” explains the number one of the American company, according to which the bonuses and prizes in shares will be closer to historical averages.
Nadella explains that i budget for bonuses and shares, as well as those placed on the plate for promotions, will remain intact and outstanding performances will be rewarded with higher prizes.
Executives, including the CEO, will also benefit from lower performance-based bonuses in 2023 than last year. Obviously the goal is to make society even more efficient.
