The new generation of the crossover Kia Niro enters the final phase of the vote that will assign the title of European Car of the Year next January 13th.
The 58 jurors from 22 countries, after having carefully evaluated 27 models, selected only seven for the final phase, including the latest Kia model.
Kia has focused on ensuring the new generation Niro meets the key requirements that today’s environmentally conscious consumers are looking for.
The new model is offered with a choice of three electrified, hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric powertrains, to satisfy any need. The version Niro EV it offers a driving range in fully electric mode of 463 km (which can reach up to 604 km in urban driving).
Niro in the plug in hybrid – PHEV – version allows its users to have a 100% electric range of 65 km, more than enough for most daily trips.
As for the version HEV, Niro it offers an average consumption between 4.4 and 4.7 liters per 100km.
Jason Jeong, President of Kia Europehe has declared: “
Kia is delighted that the judges have chosen to add Niro to the 2023 shortlist. Having just won the Golden Steering Wheel award in Germany, Niro once again sets himself apart from his competitors and we are confident his popularity will continue to grow across Europe . It would be an incredible achievement if Niro follows in EV6’s footsteps by becoming Car of the Year 2023“.
