Just a few days ago Nothing phone (1) was updated to NothingOS 1.1.7 with key new features and security. The future, as we well know, however, is represented by the major update of the operating system: the Android 13 Open Beta will open soon and, already today, interested users can sign up for the Closed Beta program.
After the teasers of Android 13 shared by Carl Pei on Twitter, the London company is finally preparing to distribute Android 13 to the public. The biggest fans will already be able to access the Closed Beta with a dedicated questionnairethrough which we are held officially responsible for any technical problems – even serious ones – caused by the installation of the potentially unstable build.
What will otherwise be called NothingOS 1.5.0 will come instead via Open Beta in two weeks starting today, November 30, 2022. In doing so, Nothing would be part of the roadmap that foresees the distribution of the big update in early 2023, as anticipated several months ago. It will obviously take several weeks to ascertain the stability of future builds, which will be progressively adjusted thanks to the feedback of those who sign up for the Betas.
Our advice, in case you are interested in accessing the previews shared by the manufacturer, remains that of always prepare a system backup to prevent misunderstandings caused by the usual bugs.
In closing, we refer you to the review of Nothing phone (1).
