A second Chinese spy balloon, after yesterday’s one sighted in the US skies, is flying over Latin America. The Pentagon reported it last night. “We are receiving reports of a balloon in transit in Latin America. We now assess this as another Chinese surveillance balloon,” General Patrick Ryder said in a statement to CNN.
Exactly where the balloon is over Latin America is unclear, but a US official told CNN it does not appear to be headed for the United States at the moment. Meanwhile, yesterday the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, postponed his visit to China due to the intrusion of the balloon into US airspace.
