Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a visit to the command post of what Moscow calls a “special military operation” in the southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don. This was reported by the Tass news agency, explaining that Putin held a meeting at a military command and control post in the Russian city. Putin arrived here from Mariupol, where he went this morning.
Russia has not used hypersonic missiles during operations in Ukraine, but has supplied them together with other sophisticated weapon systems: Putin said this, interviewed by Russian state television on the occasion of the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea, in 2014. “We didn’t have hypersonic weapons then, and today we have them. We don’t use them, but we have them, and we have other modern defense systems that didn’t exist in 2014” Putin commented when asked whether it would not have been better to launch the invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
