AMD’s next gen is coming and we have now entered the hottest phase before landing on the shelves, with the rumors becoming more and more numerous. We had only recently observed the subdued performance of the RX 7900 XTX, promptly denied by the latest news.
Same tools, opposite results, a sign that obviously something is moving on the optimization side. On Geekbench, in fact, now the 7900 XTX is able to touch and exceed the 179,000 points in Vulkan testsan extraordinary result that puts it on the second step after the RTX 4090.
The next flagship of the red team outperforms the RTX 4080 by 20%. and by 57% the RX 6900 XT, top of the range of the last generation.
Similar speech for OpenCL, where the points are over 228,000, despite changing the hierarchies by a whisker. In this case we always find the RTX 4090 on the throne which, with its 395,000 points, clearly detaches the rest of the market.
The next block is led by the RTX 4080 with its 240,000 points and immediately below the RTX 3090 Ti and RX 7900 XTXwhich takes off just 1000 points.
In short, the race seems widely open, with a fierce one AMD ready to give a hard time also to some of the best NVIDIA proposals for the next generation. However, it looks like RX 7000 stocks will be lower than expected this holiday season.
