A boy was jogging on Ocean Beach, in San Francisco (California, United States), when he suddenly heard moans.
He turned this way and that but saw no one.

At that point he decided to take a look among the rocks and managed to see a snout: a dog was in fact stuck under a large boulder near the outlet of the sewer system. It was Gwen, a year-old Springer Spaniel.

The man immediately notified the San Francisco Animal Care and Control (Acc), the body that deals with rescuing animals. Gwen’s guardian had also called the ACC, who immediately sent agent Ortega to the scene to free the dog. It was not easy for the agent to move the boulders above, but in the end he did it.

Gwen was cold and scared, but otherwise fine. She was brought back to her owners, a family who live a quarter of an hour’s drive from the beach.
No one understood how she ended up among those boulders, but luckily it was possible to free her.
