The Samsung Galaxy S24’s Exynos 2400 chip could mark the return of the Korean giant’s proprietary chips, after the “sabbatical year” that Samsung took with the failed launch of the Exynos 2300. A new leak today reveals which regions they will receive a Galaxy S24 with Exynos 2400 chipset and which instead will have a device with Snapdragon 8 Gen3.
The tipster Revegnus in fact, he explained on Twitter that “Southeast Asia will also have a Galaxy S24 with Exynos 2400 chipset, and not one with a Snapdragon SoC”. The word “Also” makes us think that Southeast Asia will not be the only market where the new generation Exynos chipset will make its way, but that the latter will also arrive in all those parts of the globe where the Exynos 2200 chipset has already been launched, Including Europe.
Conversely, only Korea and the United States will have the Galaxy S24 with Snapdragon 8 Gen3 chip made by Qualcomm. It is difficult to say what will be the fate of the “minor” markets, although in these cases it is likely that Samsung will decide to once again devote itself to the San Diego company for the production of its smartphone chips. At the very least, it appears that there will be no market where i Exynos and Snapdragon chips will coexist and users will not be able to choose which of the two variants of the Galaxy S24 to buy, as has happened in the past.
Until today, who bought a Samsung smartphone usually opted for a Snapdragon chip version, since Qualcomm’s proposal is traditionally considered more efficient and performing than that of the Korean giant. With Exynos 2400, however, things could change: Samsung Galaxy S24 will have a next-gen CPU, since the Samsung Foundry SoC should have 10 Cores, while the Exynos 2400 GPU should be well four times more powerful than that of the Galaxy S22. Will Snapdragon 8 Gen3 make it to keep up?
