Sony has officially presented its new flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1 Vwhich brings with it the first Exmor T sensor of the mobile market, which promises high quality photos even in low light conditions.
The other highlight of the technical sheet is the 6.5-inch 4K 21:9 OLED display with refresh rate up to 120Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coating. Also on the front body, we also find a 12-megapixel selfie camera powered by a 1/2.9 “selfie sensor.
Under the body we find the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of space of expandable storage via a microSD slot. However, Sony has evidently also learned from the mistakes of the past and has also improved the cooling compartment to promote better heat dissipation. To this has also been added a work of reducing the energy consumption of the camera.
However, there is no doubt that the highlight of the Sony Xperia 1 V is the photographic sector. As we said above, it is the first smartphone that can boast the stacked CMOS image sensor with 2 Layer Transistor Pixel architecture that Sony dubbed “Exmor T for Mobile”. The sensor is 48 megapixels with f / 1.9 aperture, which according to the manufacturer is able to take pictures with little noise and with a wider dynamic range. Added to this is a 12-megapixel 85-125mm telephoto lens with up to 5.2x optical zoom and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 123-degree viewing angle. Gone is the TOF sensor, since according to Sony its advanced algorithms make it useless.
Sony has also updated its Photo Pro and Video Pro apps with vertical user interface and lots of features for streamers.
Audio-wise, the Sony Xperia 1 V offers enhanced stereo speakers with more volume and richer bass. Also present is the 3.5mm audio jack and a 5000 mAh battery that supports 30W wired charging which allows you to get 50% autonomy in 30 minutes. Wireless and reverse wireless charging maintains at least 80 percent capacity after three years of use, according to Sony.
The Sony Xperia 1 V will be available in black, platinum silver and khaki green color options from the end of June, priced at €1,399 in Europe. Therefore, the prices of Sony Xperia 1 V leaked previously are not confirmed.
