Despite the smartphone sales problems for Sony, it seems that the Japanese giant is planning a return in style to the Android market during 2023. Some leaks, in fact, confirm that the new flagship Sony Xperia 1 V will be launched from the behemoth behind PlayStation later this year, perhaps as early as MWC in Barcelona.
So far, there have been very few rumors about Sony Xperia 1 V, which due to its price will remain one smartphone accessible only to a few users really passionate, especially among photography lovers. Apparently, in fact, the Xperia 1 V will focus everything (or almost) on a photographic sector renewed from real camera phone.
Citing a number of Chinese sources, the portal GSMArena brings us today some additional news about Sony’s flagship smartphone for the new year. Specifically, the website shows us what appears to be a first leaked image of the Xperia 1 V, which gives us some more information on the rear panel of the device. On the latter, in particular, we find three large photographic sensors (apparently wider than those of the current generation Xperia 1 IV) and an LED flash.
The dimensions of the cameras therefore make us think that Sony will renew the photographic sector of its top-of-the-range smartphone in view of this year’s iteration, confirming what has already been established by the leaks of recent months. Next to room bumpFinally, we also have the NFC connectivity logo, which therefore appears to be included in the smartphone.
Another Chinese leak then explains that theXperia 1 V will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 under the body, without explaining anything about the RAM of the device (probably between 8 and 12 GB) and the cuts of storage where it will be available. In theory, then, the Xperia 1 V will also be the thinnest smartphone in the world (for the moment) with the new Qualcomm chipset.
This could also generate gods smartphone overheating problems, therefore the systems adopted by Sony to keep temperatures under control still remain to be verified. Regarding the launch of the device, however, the latter could be presented during the Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona, even if the leaker they appear to be split on the smartphone launch window.
