While on a walk with her dog Edi, Ashley, a TikToker, noticed something unusual in the backyard of an abandoned house: two adorable puppies running around by themselves. She immediately felt the need to help the little ones and, after taking Edi home, she returned to the abandoned building in her car to pick them up. “On the way, I was worried and scared that something might happen to them while she was away,” she said. She had noticed that the house had been abandoned for some time: she thought the puppies had been left there on purpose.
Ashley brought the puppies home, fed and bathed them and, together with Edi, took care of them. She called them Tempura and Panko and scheduled vet appointments for them within the week. “They’re both incredibly smart,” Ashley told The Dodo. “Tempura is a mischievous scoundrel whose favorite game is to steal whatever toy Edi is currently playing with-she explained-Panko is very affectionate.”
The young woman also contacted her local shelter to report her discovery and sent them photos of the puppies as well as where she found them. She has not obtained information: she thinks the previous owners will not come forward to reclaim the two dogs. She has decided to adopt them.
The little ones have brought so much joy into her life and Edi’s life. “Every day I spend with them I don’t think I could ever pass up one – Ashley said – Plus, Edi loves them and does a great job keeping them entertained.” This story demonstrates how important it is to pay attention to the needs of animals, even if they are not owned by us, and how a small act of kindness can make a difference in the life of an animal in need.
