The most talked about artificial intelligence of late 2022 and early 2023 is definitely ChatGPT: we already know how ChatGPT works by now, since we can also try it with our own hands, and the potential seems endless. This is also known in the East, where Baidu is developing the Chinese AI alternative of OpenAI.
As reported by Bloomberg, the topic is becoming even hotter now that the Dragon wants to have a hand in it. The details known at the time of writing the news are very few: the artificial intelligence in question should be based on Baidu’s machine learning model “Ernie”which has been in training for years now and, according to Baidu, the most promising in terms of understanding and generating human language.
The tool is under development and doesn’t have a name yet, but the modus operandi it is already clear: the user places a request as input and the AI offers a more or less complex output in the form of a dialogue. Baidu CEO Robin Li per Bloomberg he would have clearly stated, during an internal speech last December, that his team is taking ChatGPT as a leading example. The goal is only one: build a generative AI that can be used by all citizens without problems.
After all, even on Chinese social networks – especially Weibo, the Chinese Twitter owned by Sina Corporation – ChatGPT is in the mouth of all users, who are continuously sharing screenshots of surprising conversations with the AI. In short, it is clear that in China they want a national alternative for break away from Western solutions. Who knows when it will be released!
Meanwhile, real estate agents are apparently loving ChatGPT.
