The hardships of the flood in Emilia Romagna continue and the assistance to the population by the Fire Brigade continues: in the streets of Conselice, in the province of Ravenna, the teams aboard an amphibian bring help to those who are still blocked by the water on the upper floors of their homes.
According to the doctors, “stagnant water, failure of the sewage systems, possible interruptions in the supply of drinking water, the presence of undisposed waste, make staying in homes seriously risky, due to the possibility of transmitting diseases waterborne infectious diseases. For these reasons, “we local doctors recommend following the instructions received from the mayor and leaving your home as soon as possible. In moments like these, it is necessary to put the protection of your own health and that of your loved ones first and, while we understand the concern and discomfort of this situation, we strongly ask you to join the invitation to abandon the houses located in areas from which the water has not yet flowed”. The municipality of Conselice has re-launched the appeal: “we sincerely thank the general practitioners of the municipality of Conselice who have sent a letter to their clients in which they recommend putting the protection of their own health and that of their loved ones first and foremost , while understanding the concern and discomfort of this situation, strongly ask to join the invitation to abandon the houses located in areas from which the water has not yet flowed”. Subsequently, the mayor issued a new ordinance which reduces the area involved in the evacuation compared to the previous provision, reiterating however that in order to protect their own health and that of their families, it is necessary that the citizens of the still flooded areas leave their homes. Just today, in Conselice, the open day of vaccinations against tetanus was held, the riskiest virus among those contracted in situations of prolonged contact with stagnant, waste and potentially contaminated waters.
