According to Moscow, the conquest of the towns of Vuhledar and Pavlivka, very close to each other, would have failed once again due to a mine. This was reported by the Ukrainian media which made public these images showing the advance of some Russian tanks. First one goes up, then the second lines up while the third waits and resumes the scene. But once flanked, the tanks run into a mine. The soldiers scream and run and retreat on foot.
According to what was declared in recent days by the British Ministry of Defense, “it is unlikely that Russian troops will be able to concentrate sufficient forces of quality to break through the Ukrainian defenses in this area of the Donetsk region”. For two weeks already, Pavlivka and Vuhledar have been the scene of intense fighting. The area is disputed because “Russia believes it has potential as a springboard for a future advance towards the North and, therefore, useful for conquering the rest of the Donetsk region”.
