On Thursday, the Turin prosecutor’s office asked for the indictment of 12 former and current managers of Juventus, and for the company itself, as part of the investigation into the so-called “false capital gains” and other alleged irregularities in the corporate financial statements of the last years. Among the suspects are the former president Andrea Agnelli, the former vice president Pavel Nedved, the former sports director Fabio Paratici and the managing director Maurizio Arrivabene.
The decision to request a trial for the executives – many of whom had resigned a few days ago precisely to allow the company to face the investigations from a better position – was rather obvious, but a formal decision was still missing. Now the judge of the preliminary hearing will decide whether to initiate a trial against the suspects or whether to close the case.
