Driving at just six years old, next to him his brother of three. Out in the night, taking the parents’ car, to go to the store to buy a toy car. But what they were driving was a real car, as was the lamppost they crashed into, causing a cut under the mind of the older of the two. The protagonists are two Malaysian brothers who were stopped by the police on the island of Langkawi after they lost control of their car. A 95-second video, which sees the older brother in the driver’s seat with the little one next to him, has gone viral on Facebook. ”Mum is at home and we are going to the shop”, the older boy can be heard saying. ”We want to buy a black car”, adds the youngest.
Langkawi Police Chief Shariman Ashari said the car they were driving, a silver Toyota Vios, attracted the attention of other motorists who thought someone was “drunk” behind the wheel. The two children, he continued, secretly left the house while the “mother was in the bathroom and the father was sleeping” and took the car. They had traveled about 2.5 kilometers before the accident that damaged the hood of the car, Shariman added. At that point it was realized that ”the driver was a minor of six years, who was driving with a passenger, his brother, three years old. The accident happened when the car, which had started from Ulu Melaka towards Kampung Nyior Chabang, lost control and crashed into a lamppost near Kampung Titi Chanwang,” Shariman said.
