Only paid users with a ‘Blue Twitter’ subscription will be entitled to vote in upcoming polls on social media policies. The owner Elon Musk took the ball when a user tweeted that only ‘blue’ subscribers should vote, after a poll launched by Musk himself decreed that the Tesla founder should resign.
After yesterday’s poll, which saw 57% of participants prefer Musk’s resignation, one user suggested that “blue subscribers should be the only ones who can vote in policy-related polls”. To this opinion Musk replied: “Great observation. Twitter will make this change.”
Twitter Blue is a paid subscription that allows anyone to purchase a blue checkmark verified badge for their account.
