UFI Filters supplies the heat exchanger for the new 160 kW ePT-160 front electric motor present on the new ones Renault Megane E-Tech and Nissan Ariya.
It is an electric unit intended for vehicles from C segment which will soon be presented in Europe, electric motors resulting from the Franco-Japanese alliance.
What are the characteristics of the new UFI Filters heat exchanger?
It is equipped with aluminum plates and is produced according to vacuum brazing technology which allows the creation of a robust and clean product, an exchanger made up of 4 layers dedicated to the oil and four to the coolant.
The oil inlet is through the base plate fixed directly to the outside of the electric motor, the configuration of this heat exchanger is cross flow counter flow, this allows the oil and coolant to flow in opposite directions.
On the Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE 4WD there is a second UFI Filters heat exchanger
The presence of a second rear electric motor on the Japanese integral crossover made it necessary to install a second heat exchanger with 7 layers for the passage of the oil and six for the coolant.
Rinaldo Facchini, CEO of the UFI Filters Group, he has declared: “The collaboration with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance represents a milestone, as it testifies to the technological leadership of the UFI Filters Group in the electric mobility sector. Being present on an engine that goes from 120,000 pieces a year, aiming to reach 300,000, demonstrates how even the thermal management of battery-powered vehicles is one of the company’s strengths”.
