The death toll from the shooting in a Walmart supermarket in Chesapeake, Virginia’s second largest city, is seven dead, including the assailant. This was reported by the American media, quoting local police sources, according to which the toll would have been even heavier without the rapid intervention of the agents.
A man opened fire, probably the manager of the mall, who after shooting pointed the weapon at himself and took his own life. The injured are said to be numerous, according to what has been announced so far about the attack, which took place around 10pm local time.
Attack that comes a few days after the one carried out in Colorado, where a gunman opened fire in an LGBT nightclub, killing five people and wounding 25 others. In 2019, in an attack against the Mexican community in a Walmart supermarket in El Paso, they were killed 22 people.
