The first “gift” that Porsche gives itself for its 75-year history is called Vision 357: it is a prototype that pays homage to the brand’s first car, designed by Ferry Porsche. A mix between the past, present and future of the German company: if the lines are inspired by the style that was, in fact, the technical basis of today’s 718 Cayman GT4 RS is hidden under the bodywork.

The future? It’s in the tank: it’s the “carbon neutral” synthetic fuel that feeds the ravenous 500 HP naturally aspirated 4-litre boxer engine. In short, this Vision is a synthesis of everything that Ferry Porsche would have achieved today. Therefore, the glass surfaces merge together, ideally forming a visor windshield; the door handles become invisible, as do the light clusters, drowned in the bodywork.

And there is no shortage of motorsport-inspired “goodies”, such as the very light 20″ magnesium rims with aerodynamic carbon covers and the quick-release front bonnet. The Vision 357 will be the protagonist of the exhibition called “Driven by Dreams. 75 years of Porsche sports cars”, which will be open until 10 September at the Volkswagen Group Forum in Berlin.
