Volvo Cars has signed an important agreement with Tesla.
A partnership that will give existing and future Volvo model owners access to the extensive network of Superchargers operated by the well-known American electric car manufacturer.
Based on this agreement, from 2025, all Volvo cars destined for the United States, Canada and Mexico will be equipped with the NACS recharge (acronym of North American Charging Standard).
Volvo customers will thus have access to over 12,000 fast charging points, a number expected to grow within a few months, given the expansion of Tesla and its Supercharger charging network.
The owners of Volvo EX30 and EX90, will be able to locate the charging stations in the Volvo Cars app Superchargers, as well as who will sit behind the wheel of one XC40 and C40 Recharge, all also using an adapter to use the NACS socket.
Jim Rowan, CEO of Volvo Cars he has declared: “Our transition journey to become an all-electric car manufacturer by 2030 includes a commitment to make everyday use of an electric car as easy as possible. One of the main factors preventing more people from switching to electric driving – a key step towards more sustainable transport – is easy and convenient access to charging infrastructure. Today, thanks to this agreement, we are taking an important step to remove this obstacle for Volvo customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.”.
Volvo will market only electric cars from 2030
