Drone warfare from a Bakhmut dungeon
New attack on the Russian Engels air base
The airport of Engels, a Russian city about 800 km away from the Ukrainian border suffered an explosion late in the evening. The Russian media report that anti-aircraft sirens sounded and that fire engines and ambulances went to the airport area, but did not quantify any years. Last December 5, two more strong explosions occurred at the air base due to a probable attack by Ukrainian drones, although Kiev has not officially claimed responsibility for them. At Engels airfield, Russia’s Tu-95 long-range bombers are stationed and form a significant component of its strategic nuclear arsenal. The same bombers were used for cruise missile attacks on Ukraine.
