The recent case of Elon Musk’s suspension of the @elonjet Twitter account, guilty of having traced the tycoon’s movements with his own private jet, has brought the topic of doxxing (or doxing), expression of the language of the network and social networks that indicates the posting someone’s private information on the Internet, making it public knowledge.
This is information that can be associated with a specific individual, and therefore sensitive. This can be, for example, the real name of someone who is hiding their identity behind a nickname, home address, telephone number, e-mail address, photo or other personal information.
Since this sensitive data, once disclosed, can help to understand who someone really is, where they live or how to get in touch with them more easily, it is well understood how “to be doxxed” can be compared to a form of cyberbullying.
