Whatsapp has announced the new features and the improvements introduced to the call and video call system during the year and those that will be available on the smartphones of millions of users over the next few weeks.
The messaging application Meta has introduced video calls with 32 people, a number four times higher than the previous one. However, the app also gives the ability to send messages to call participants or mute them through a long press on the username.
In the wake of what has been done by other similar applications, Whatsapp has facilitated participation in calls with Adding a link sharing system.
Also changes to the design of Whatsapp calls (which are end-to-end encrypted by default): the developers have announced the arrival of PiP mode on iOScurrently in beta testing and being implemented in 2023. This will allow you to minimize the video call screen on the iPhone, to allow you to access documents or carry out other activities at the same time.
Whatsapp has also introduced colored waveforms to make it easier to identify the person who is speaking if the camera is turned off. Finally, a notification banner has been introduced during the call when a new participant joins the group.
“We’ll make further improvements next year to continue delivering high-quality private calls on WhatsApp, anywhere in the world” is the promise of the team.
