Xiaomi wants to make the whole house smart. The Asian brand has launched its own intelligent aquarium, christened Mijia Smart Aquarium for which the crowdfunding phase will start on Xiaomi Mall in a couple of days at a price of 50 Dollars (349 Yuan).
In terms of technical specifications, the smart aquarium is equipped with a five-stage rear filter system, with patented self-cleaning anti-clogging water pump, capable of performing the physical filtration and growing the bacteria necessary to create the ideal ecosystem for fish and reduce the frequency of water changes. Xiaomi explains that users will have to change the water once every six months thanks to these systems.
The aquarium uses a true five-line ultra-clear UHA with light transmission of 91.3%, a level usually used in the automotive industry.
However, if there is one specification that gives a good idea of how smart an aquarium is, it is there ability to take care of fish remotely: via a mobile application it is possible to control the flow of water, but also the lighting. The lights are 24 color rendering index: there are white LED light beads and 16 full color RGB light beads. In this way it is possible to obtain a light practically identical to that of the sun which does not disturb the fish.
