Important change announced by Google for the YouTube advertising system. In a post published on the help forum, the video sharing platform announced that from 6 April 2023, pop-up overlay advertisements will no longer appear from movies.
It’s about those videos that they are displayed in banner style on the underside of clipsjust above the navigation bar, as shown in the graphic below.
The choice, explains Googlewas taken because the managers evidently realized that it could prevent the creators’ movies from being displayed correctly.
“Effective April 6, 2023, the “Overlay Ads” ad format will no longer appear on YouTube to help improve the viewer experience and shift engagement to higher-performing formats on desktop and mobile. Overlay ads are a legacy ad format that only appear on desktop computers and are disruptive to viewers. We expect to see limited impact for most creators as engagement moves to other advertising formats reads.
YouTube studio creators will no longer have the ability – as of April 6, 2023, to add or remove YouTube Studio overlay ads from their monetization options.
